We have started the process of tracing backward all the life experiences our tamarins had in our care, including partners, families, and any significant stressors that are part of life (illness, loss of partner, separations). Here we started with the food delivery notebooks, tracing through breakfast, main feed, and snack the housing and activities of the tamarins each day for 26 years. It is hard to part with these notebooks -- Julie kept every scrap of paper since 1998 when this all started. But she hopes to write a book about this journey, both for the monkeys and for the lab.
