Shown below are pictures of the monkeys currently residing in our colony. Their ages range from 17 to 20 years. Three originated from the lab of Dr. Charles Snowdon, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and one, Oriole, was originally born at Carleton (parents were Olympia and Vulture). All the monkeys pictured below are aging adults; the lifespan of a tamarin is typically 12-15 years.  All have been reared in social groups, and are currently living as 2 pairs. Carleton’s colony is inspected twice each year by the IACUC committee, and once each year by a federal USDA team for care, record-keeping, and health and well-being. We have always passed all inspections well with no violations found pertaining to the monkeys. Click on the picture to find more information on each monkey!
