The Herculean task of getting 32 cage panels and 4 medical cages from Carleton's tamarin colony to OPR Coastal Primate Sanctuary! We did it!

The moving group was Ella Rogers ('24) , Julie Neiworth (faculty), Dom Dennis ('26), Eliza Hawthorne ('26) and Anka Raicevic ('25). It was emotional to see the cages go but we also discussed cleaning them and using them -- it allowed us to reminisce about the monkeys we watched, cared for, loved, and studied. And I know the monkeys who are getting these cages now. It is a pleasure to support retired research monkeys and surrendered ex-pet monkeys by giving them expansions to their cages at OPR (Oregon Primate Rescue) Coastal Primate Sanctuary. Polly Schultz, the CEO, should be receiving these gifts in about 10 days and we will post again when they are being used with some of the monkeys housed there.
